Solve Decimals

• Using the Decimals Calculator
• All outputs/answers are in integers or decimals.
• When you input fractions, please type only proper fractions or improper fractions.
• For mixed numbers, please put the "plus" sign between the integer and the proper fraction.
• Example: $2\dfrac{3}{4}$ should be typed as 2+3/4.
• Convert a fraction to a decimal: Just type the fraction and click the "Calculate" button
• Example: $\dfrac{1}{4}$ (written as 1/4) should give 0.25
• Add, Subtract, Multiply fractions, integers, and decimals
• It follows the order of operations
• Example: $3 + \dfrac{5}{9} - 0.7 * \dfrac{2}{5}$ (written as 3 + 5/9 - 0.7 * 2/5) should give $3.2755555555555556$
• Divide fractions, integers, and decimals
• Use parenthesis appropriately
• Example: $\dfrac{(2 + 3)}{4}$ written as ((2 + 3) / 4) should give $1.25$.
• Example: $\dfrac{3}{5} \div \dfrac{5}{3}$ (written as (3/5) / (5/3)) should give $0.36$
• Example: $3 \div 0.3$ (written as 3 / 0.3) should give $10$
• Example: $\dfrac{3}{5} \div 0.3$ (written as (3/5) / 0.3) should give $2$
• Add, Subtract, Multiply, and Divide fractions, integers, and decimals
• Use parenthesis appropriately for the division
• Example: $-\dfrac{5}{12} + \left(\dfrac{3}{5} \div \dfrac{7}{10}\right)$ written as (-5/12) + ((3/5) / (7/10)) should give $0.4404761904761905$
• Example: $\dfrac{3}{4} * 4(2 + 7) \div -\dfrac{1}{2} * -\dfrac{1}{3}$ written as (3/4) - 4*(2 + 7) / (-1/2)*(-1/3) should give $-23.25$

Round Decimals

• Using the Rounding Decimals Calculator
• All inputs should be in decimals (positive or negative decimals). No integers or fractions please.
• If you want to round integers, please use the "Rounding Integers" calculator.
• The calculator has options for the: decimal value (one value at a time), the rounding value, and the rounding type.
• The decimal value and the rounding type is required.
• The rounding type could be: decimal places, ceiling (least integer function), flooring (greatest integer function), fix (just the integer function), significant digits (significant figures), scientific notation (exponential notation), and engineering notation.
• Rounding values are needed for the rounding types: decimal places and significant digits.
• However, if you select decimal places as the rounding type; but did not specify the number of decimal places (rounding value), then, the calculator will round the decimal value to the nearest integer.
• The calculator will also round the decimal value to the nearest integer if you specify "0" as the rounding value.
• Example: 5.73 to "blank" decimal places should give $6$
• Example: 5.73 to 0 decimal places should give $6$
• Example: -5.73 to 0 decimal places should give $-6$
• Example: 5.43 to "blank" decimal places should give $5$
• Example: 5.43 to 0 decimal places should give $5$
• Example: -5.43 to 0 decimal places should give $-5$
• However, if you select significant digits as the rounding type; but did not specify the number of significant digits (rounding value), then, the calculator will just return the decimal value you entered.
• The calculator will also return the decimal value you entered if you specify "0" as the rounding value.
• Example: 5.73 to "blank" significant digits should give $5.73$
• Example: -5.43 to "blank" significant digits should give $-5.43$
• Example: 5.43 to 0 significant digits should give $5.43$
• Example: -5.73 to 0 significant digits should give $-5.73$
• No rounding values are needed for the rounding types: ceiling, flooring, fix, scientific notation, and engineering notation.. Just input the decimal value and select the appropriate rounding type.
• Example: 5.73 to "blank" ceiling (ceil) should give $6$
• Example: -5.73 to "blank" ceiling (ceil) should give $-5$
• Example: 5.73 to "blank" flooring (floor) should give $5$
• Example: -5.73 to "blank" flooring (floor) should give $-6$
• Example: 5.73 to "blank" fix should give $5$
• Example: -5.73 to "blank" fix should give $-5$
• Example: 573 to "blank" scientific notation should give $5.73 * {10^2}$
• The calculator outputs it as $5.73e+2$
• Just know that $5.73e+2$ is the same as $5.73 * {10^2}$
